FOOD
FESTIVAL UPDATE:
Ludlow
Food Festival is a great day out and full of culinary delights.
This year's event takes place on Friday 7th, Saturday 8th and Sunday
9th September - owners old and new, why not combine a day in Ludlow
with a visit to the yard?
For
more details on the Food Festival, visit http://www.foodfestival.co.uk/
There
are no fewer than seven restaurants in or near Ludlow with entries
in the current Michelin guide to hotels and restaurants in Britain
- a larger number than anywhere in Britain outside London. (Population
of Ludlow is circa 10,000.) And this statistic is not just confined
to the Michelin guide. The AA restaurant guide and the Consumers
Association Good Food Guide show the same conclusions.
And
of course, you could stay a little longer to see some of the wonderful,
unspoilt, hilly countryside and castles of the Marches.
Ludlow
has a busy train station which is on the main Manchester to Cardiff
line. There are loads of great places to stay as well as some of
the finest restaurants outside of London. Don't forget, Ludlow is
a great place for Christmas shopping as it boasts lots of quirky,
unusual gift shops - perfect for finding that unique present for
the person that has everything!
If
you are a food lover then a date for your 2007 diary is the Ludlow
Festival Of Food and Drink. The Festival, which will be in it's
thirteenth year, features top-quality food and drink from more than
120 small producers and suppliers in Ludlow and the Marches, the
English-Welsh border country - plus an amazing range of events that
enabled you to rediscover real food and drink whilst exploring Ludlow,
rich in history and architecture.
If
you're a racing lover at heart, why not appease your family or friends
with a trip to Ludlow or, if the boot is on the other foot, why
not reverse the situation and enjoy a day in or around Ludlow.
