Lago
loves it at Carlisle
Lago,
pictured below, landed the spoils in the OG's Racing Club Northern
Tour Amateur Riders' Handicap Hurdle at Carlisle in November. In
doing so, he landed the stable's ninth winner of the season.
The 216 mile journey to the Cumbria track was justified when the
nine-year-old stormed clear of the field after the second last.
Lago enjoyed his jumping throughout the race and was partnered by
new amatuer Ashley Bird who enjoyed more success following up from
his victory aboard Rifleman at Hereford a week ago. Indeed,
this was Ashley's second ride as an amateur and his second win.

Jolejoker ran a superb race on his first start of the winter campaign
to finish third at Chepstow. This fine son of Alflora jumped and
galloped impressively - we are looking forward to his next start.
Cursum
Perficio wins at Huntingdon - 27 August 2007

Carol's own Cursum Perficio won in fine style at Huntingdon.
Percy, as he known at home, made a top class debut over hurdles
in the Maxine Lester Residential Lettings Maiden Hurdle. Popular
conditional Charlie Poste took the ride.
Spot's
flying at Hereford - 22 November 2007
A double
on the day for Richard Lee was kicked off by Marked Man - his second
win at the track in a month.
Marked
Man triumphed again at what must now be his favourite track. Spotty,
as he is known at home, landed the day's feature event, the WBX.COM
World Bet Exchange Handicap Chase by half a length from Cusp.
Spotty was following up a win over course and distance just a month
ago when he trounced subsequent winners, Abutilon, Walsingham and
Albarino.

In
October, Eleven-year-old Marked Man put up a fine display of both
galloping and jumping at Hereford to win the Wye Valley Brewery
Handicap Chase.
Richard and Annabel Elliott's gelding looked in fine fettle before
the the race and went on to romp home by an emphatic six lengths.

Charlie
Poste, who claimed a useful 5lbs in the race, kept Spotty in a handy
position throughout. The successful duo took up the running approaching
the third last and never looked back. Abutilon gave chase but did
not impress on the winner.
Rifleman
makes it a double-barrelled success for Lee
Richard's
second winner of the day was Rifleman who landed the WBX.COM Amateur
Riders' Handicap Chase.
Ashley
Bird, who has joined the yard this season, steered the stable's
newest recruit to a two length victory.
The
winning duo were handy throughout the contest and while disputing
the lead along the ack straight, did not take up the running until
after the last fence. A top class round of both jumping and galloping
saw Rifleman scoot two lengths clear approaching the line.
Lee
enjoys perfect return to course
- Lingfield Park 28 September
IT HAD been nearly four years since Richard Lee saddled a runner
here, but that did not stop Rapide Plaisir from posting a four-length
victory in the feature handicap chase.
Partnered by Robert Thornton, the nine-year-old improved his trainer's
strike-rate here over the past two decades to better than one in
four - 11 winners from 43 runners.
Lee, based near Byton in Herefordshire, said: "He is a decent
horse. He was unlucky not to win at Cheltenham, and it went pear-shaped
at Stratford last time.
"We've come a long way but I picked out this race a couple
of months ago."
Lee added: "I haven't had a runner here for ages, but used
to come all the time when they had all-weather jumping, and we had
a lot of success."

Borora
wins over fences at Uttoxeter - 12 September 2007

Borora
impressed at Uttoxeter when winning the Allied Irish Bank Handicap
Chase - a 2m 4f contest.
Borora put up an athletic jumping display. Jockey Charlie Poste
kept Borora up with the pace in the early stages of the race before
hitting the front at the fourth last and pushing out Borora to win
comfortably.
He
has run well in his two subsequent outings finishing a gallant second
to Donovan at Huntingdon and to Mister McGoldrick at Wetherby.
Cottingham
starts the season in style - 14 June 2007Cottingham,
owned by Glass Half Full, started the campaign well when winning
at Uttoxeter. He has gone to run another seven times so far this
season - finishing out of the frame only once.
Cottingham went on to score again at Newton Abbot in August. This
time ridden by Choc Thornton. This gutsy Perugino gelding has run
consistently well throughout the season and continues to do so.
